Responsible marketing and communication practices

Our Tiger Innovation Process (TIPS) governs our robust pipeline of health and nutrition, value driving and sustainability projects of the overall business. This ensures that they are brought to market in a manner that guarantees thorough checks from a nutrition, regulatory and legislation perspective, while also driving speed to market, agility and discipline in the execution of projects.

Marketing to Children Policy: Tiger Brands is a signatory to the Marketing to Children Pledge as part of the then Advertising Standards Authority (now Advertising Regulatory Board) Code of Advertising. This pledge was signed in 2008 and has various restrictions on marketing to children below 12 years of age. Signatories must comply with these restrictions as part of responsible marketing practices.

Nanomaterials: Should the declaration of the use of nanomaterials become a requirement, Tiger Brands will declare it accordingly, in a similar way we address the declaration of genetically modified and irradiated ingredients in foods. Nanomaterials are an increasingly important product of nanotechnologies. They contain nanoparticles, smaller than 100 nanometres in at least one dimension. Nanomaterials are coming into use in healthcare, electronics, cosmetics and other areas.
